Trying to get more veggies into my family. This is a winner. Easy, quick and very tasty. Will definitely make it again.

No, no, no, do NOT blanch the broccoli for this salad. Raw broccoli has a natural sweetness that is perfect in this recipe; blanching it brings out a very different (sulfur) taste that isn't as good. Small florets guarantee that you'll have the perfect amount of crunch without getting a mouthful of just broccoli. Agree with others that this salad can be made much prettier by using red grapes instead of green and dried cranberries instead of raisins. For my taste, the recipe as written is too sweet--and not all that "light." Recommend cutting the dried cranberries (which, like any dried fruit including raisins, are full of sugar) to 1/2 cup; reducing the sugar to 1 Tablespoon; and increasing the vinegar (I used apple cider because it adds so much more flavor) to 1-1/2 generous Tablespoons.I made the full recipe of dressing and only used 1/2 of it. These changes will make the salad much lighter while still delicious!!

Been looking for a good broccoli salad. This one is great. Used less sugar. We all loved it, leftover were gone by the next day.

I blanched the broccoli - I should not have. The dressing with this amount of raisins were too sweet, though I used only 1T of sugar. Next time I would cut the raisins by half.

Excellent way to use all the fresh broccoli coming out of my garden. Followed the recipe pretty much as is except for using vanilla yogurt and cut back a little on the sugar to make up for it. Very good base recipe to experiment with adding other fruits and vegetables.

I made this for Mothers Day and it was all gone! I took lizardo1's advice and used less sugar and added slivered almonds instead of sunflower seeds. I also subbed craisins for the raisins and used green onions instead of celery. This recipe is definately a keeper!

I LOVE this salad! Substitute red grapes for green and craisins for raisins, which adds color and kid-appeal. I also use Splenda instead of sugar. It is my standard "go to" recipe for covered dish dinners...and there are NEVER any leftovers!

With the exception of replacing the sunflower seeds with toasted almonds, I followed the recipe exactly and enjoyed the results. Very good, summery salad.

I was looking for a no-bacon recipe (to cut corners on fat and calories) and this recipe surpassed my expectations. What an easy, tasty, dish! I used purple grapes instead of green and I added some (~1/4 cup) diced red onion. I think I'll add some chopped cucumber next time. This salad is so amazing, I love the versatility of it and its so easy to add/modify to your individual tastes.

What a tasty salad, with lots of different textures. I used less sugar and added slivered almonds that I toasted since I didn't have sunflower seeds. Loved it!

A great salad - perfect for picnics! The dressing was a little too sweet so next time I might decrease the sugar a bit, but I loved the rest of it - crisp broccoli, crunchy celery, sweet raisins, and salty sunflower - yum!

I've been making this salad ever since it was first published in 2002. It's a standby for just about any party!

I made this for a work luncheon and everyone loved it! I didn't put the dressing on until right before I served, I was worried it would take the crunch out of the broccoli. I omitted the grapes but after reading the reviews I might add them next time.

The dressing on this is just as good as the more unhealthy versions. I did not use grapes and celery, just broccoli. I used toasted almonds instead of sunflower seeds. Everyone loved this dish!

This is by far the best Broccoli Salad I have ever made - however, I chopped the broccoli and did not blanch since I like the crunch, subbed in seedless red grapes, golden raisins, 4-5 pkts of Splenda (for the sugar), cider vinegar, added 3-4 Tbls of OM bacon bits, ¼ - ½ cup chopped red onionsâ¦OMG, YUMMY!

Excellent, easy, healthy recipe. I took other rater's advice and blanched the broccoli. I used vanilla yogurt instead of plain as that is what I had on hand, and I left out the sugar. It had a nice mild flavor. Then I spiced it up with tumeric and a bit more vinegar. I will definitely make this one again.

A nice, lighter version of an old family favorite. Served as a side at a tailgate party. Used black grapes, splenda instead of the sugar, and omitted the celery. Next time, I'll only use half of the raisins, and maybe add some diced red onion, from the old family recipe.

Oh Flip!! This is so good. I double the sauce and make this a day ahead of time to let it chill and marinate the flavors. I then add bacon just before serving and always get rave reviews.
