In the metal scene, some people think that Alice in Chains' Layne Staley, and Megadeth's Dave Mustaine might have had some beef. Let's see what got people buzzing about the duo.
Megadeth And Alice In Chains Both Enjoyed Mainstream Success
In the realm of rock and heavy metal, few bands have reached the zenith of success quite like Megadeth and Alice in Chains.
Megadeth, formed in 1983 by guitarist and vocalist Dave Mustaine, emerged as pioneers of thrash metal alongside the "Big Four" bands.

Layne Staley's Impression Of Dave Had Some Speculating That A Feud Was Brewing
A video from yesteryear of Layne Staley doing a perfect impression of Dave Mustaine has been around forever, but recently, it has gained some traction once again.
According to Revolver, "While the actual interview segment is most likely taken from an episode of Headbangers Ball, one savvy YouTuber cut the footage of Staley singing the "Symphony of Destruction" lyrics, "Watch him become a god," in Mustaine's high-pitched shrill and pasted it right after Mustaine reciting the lines himself onstage. The back-to-back is perfectly timed and Staley's impersonation is hysterically accurate."
Some people thought that it was Layne taking a playful jab at Dave, while others took it personally. Some of the comments under the various videos have been a mixed bag, and it's sad that some fans were quick to take some nasty shots at Layne, even focusing on the substance abuse issues that plagued his life.
Speculation aside, most would agree that Staley's impression was spot-on, and legit hilarious.
A feud has never been officially confirmed, but some were confident that there was a problem. This is largely due to the fact that Mustaine has had plenty of rock feuds.

Mustaine Has Engaged In Numerous Feuds
According to The Gauntlet, one of Dave's biggest feuds has been with his former Metallica bandmate, Lars Ulrich.
"Just mentioning Metallica or Lars Ulrich has sent Mustaine into tears. Things got so bad that the media began asking about the feud in interviews causing Dave to blowup at the press. Things came to a boilingpoint in 2005 when Metallica released Some Kind of Monster which featured Mustaine and Ulrich working out their differences. Things now seem to be on the right path although both sides take jabs at one another in the press on occasion," the site wrote.
Dave has also beefed with his Megadeth bandmates, notably Dave Ellefson.
"David Ellefson was a little pissed to say the least in 2002 when Mustaine broke up Megadeth due to an arm injury. Ellefson claimed he did it solely to get the rest of the band to quit. Lawsuits were filed on both ends for several million dollars and Mustaine ultimately winning. Word is they celebrated Christmas together a few years later," The Gauntlet wrote.

It's likely that the impression of Mustaine from Layne was a friendly jab and nothing more. Still, it would be interesting to hear what Mustaine thinks about the video, and about how accurate Layne was.
